SAC Access Report
GovernanceFor clients using SAC Planning, user access reporting is a key requirement that enables solution owners to govern access, monitor permissions, and take appropriate actions to maintain control over application and data security.
We implemented a custom solution that delivers real-time user access information. In addition, we integrated a Generative AI capability that enables governance teams to quickly retrieve insights and respond to access-related queries, significantly improving efficiency and decision-making.
The Governance Challenge in SAC
SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) does not provide a standard out-of-the-box report that offers a comprehensive view of all role-based data access permissions. As a result, organizations often lack clear visibility into who has access to specific applications and data, particularly when sensitive information requires strong governance and control.

Key Access Control Elements in SAC
- Roles: Define what tasks users can perform and what product features they can access.
- Content Sharing: Secures access to SAC content such as dashboards, folders, and stories through permissions.
- Data Access Control: Restricts users or teams to specific dimension members within acquired and import models.
- Model Data Privacy: Restricts read and write access through assigned security roles and dimension properties.
- Live vs. Import Connection Rules: Controls live data access at the source system, while imported data is managed directly within SAC.
